This work is not intended to be a roster or listing of names. It is meant to bring substance and meaning to the lives of those who fought for their beliefs in the Civil War. Histories have been written of the many Wisconsin regiments and their exploits. Each of those regiments consisted of hundreds of individuals of various backgrounds, ideals and occupations. Those who fell through disease or wounds left behind a grieving family. Those who returned carried on in their traditions and worked to create a better life.
